Stockholm Archipelago Fair
Promotes The Island Region

Boats, handicraft, souvenirs: you’ll find it all at the archipelago fair, every year in Stockholm. The 2007 edition is held from May 25 to May 27 at the island of Djurgården.

Over 100,000 people are expected to visit the folk fest. Not only locals, but tourists will enjoy a visit too.

Exhibitions provide information about various aspects of the archipelago. You can buy all sorts of handicraft and try food from the islands.

There’s tourist information and live music. And of course you can buy a boat to explore the region yourself.

The first Stockholm skärgårdsmässan - as it's called in Swedish - was held in 1989. The event is meant to promote the archipelago, which has become a popular holiday destination for Swedes and foreigners.

There are not only Swedish exhibitors. Finland, the Baltic States and the Åland islands are represented as well.

It is recommended to book your accommodation during the Stockholm archipelago fair ahead of time. Otherwise you might not find an affordable hotel room.

Admission to the fair is free. Parking space is limited so leave your car at home or at your hotel. Instead take the bus (lines 44 and 47) or the street car (7).
