Best Western Foresta Hotel - The Review
The Best Western Foresta Hotel is one of the magnificent hotels I know. I even spent my honeymoon there! The location has one big minus: it’s on the eastern island of Lidingö and it takes 20 to 30 minutes by tram and metro to reach the centre of Stockholm. But the location also has huge plusses. The Foresta - a remarkable piece of architecture - is built on top of a cliff, allowing you a great view over the eastern part of Stockholm.
And if you’re an art fan you can’t be in a better spot as the hotel neighbors Millesgården, a garden with sculptures of famous Swedish artist Carl Milles who used to live here. Large rooms with tasteful Scandinavian design furniture and a truly mouth-watering breakfast buffet complete a stay to remember. The friendly receptionist turned a smile on our face when we arrived even though we were soaking wet because it was raining heavily.By the way, if you decide to book a room here, you might even meet a celebrity or two! Past guests of the Best Western Foresta Hotel include big names like The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Tom Jones, Greta Garbo and Josephine Baker.
