Stockholm For Business Travelers - A Conference Center Around Every Corner

With a conference center almost around every corner, it is not surprising that Stockholm is one of the world’s most popular cities for business travelers. Conferences, conventions, congresses and other business meetings: there are plenty of opportunities in the Swedish capital.

The International Congress & Convention Association (ICCA) publishes every year a list of cities that hosted international association meetings.

Stockholm steadily ranks in the Top-10 and has even reached some Top-3 rankings. With Barcelona, Vienna and Lisbon the Swedish capital belongs to the four most popular European business travel destinations.

Why business travelers go to Stockholm?

  • It’s easy to get there. Almost 500 international direct flights go to or from Stockholm every day.

  • Local transport facilities are excellent and you can easily rent a car.

  • Over 40,000 hotel rooms are available in almost 250 hotels, of which many are located in the centre of the city.

  • Most Swedes speak English. Foreigners receive a warm welcome.

  • Sweden is a country with a highly innovative economy, with Stockholm as its main commercial centre. Despite its small population and high taxes the country has produced many billionaires.

  • Stockholm is an excellent and safe location for excursions before and after a convention. You can play golf, go fishing, make a boat trip on the archipelago, visit the old town etc.

    • Local entrepreneurs have recognized the opportunities of the Swedish capital offers.

    The city now offers a wide variety of facilities for business people. There are several large international venues, but just as many centers for smaller meetings.

    Altogether up to 40 venues – big and small - serve the business world. For example Arlanda, Stockholms main airport, has excellent facilities. But even the smallest hotel has at least one well-equipped meeting room.
