Hotel Tegnerlunden Stockholm – The Review
With its grey façade hotel Tegnerlunden Stockholm does not look too appealing from the outside. Yet it’s a place I gladly recommend if you plan to stay a few nights in the Swedish capital.
Like the Bema Hotel it is located at Tegnérlunden, a small park in a residential area close to the commercial centre of the city. The former dwelling of playwright August Strindberg (now a museum) at the northern end of Stockholm’s main shopping street Drottninggatan is literally around the corner. It’s a well-insulated building which is something you realize only when you enter the breakfast room and suddenly notice you are not the only guest. The breakfast room is at the sixth floor and looks over the rooftops of Vasastan. The buffet is good, the staff discreet and helpful. The rooms are not big but they are quite cosy, with white as the dominant color. We visited the hotel with our 1-year-old daughter and the baby bed they had put in our room was clean and in excellent condition. Normally rates are average, according to Stockholm standards, but they have good deals in the tourist season. Worth checking out!
