Husaro

Husarö in winter

Husarö in winter

We love to go to Husarö. It's not as well known as Utö or Finnhamn (which is the neighboring island) and it's not a big island but there's a lot you can do there like angling, swimming, canoeing, windsurfing.

They also have a pilot museum and in July there's a festival with a big market. They call it Husarö Day.

The pilot museum is not about guys flying airplanes or first episodes of TV shows, but about men who guided ships. There was already such a pilot here during the 15th Century. I like ships so it's kind of interesting.

You can reach the island in 2-3 hours. There are cottages and a restaurant. We've been here many times, even in winter, and we always liked it. I guess we'll go there again next year or so.
