What Is An RSS Feed?
An RSS feed is an amazing way to receive the latest news about your favorite topics.
Instead of having to check every site you bookmarked, you just click one time ... and all your favorite parts of the Web come to you.
RSS means Really Simple Syndication or Rich Site Summary or ... whatever. It's not important. What matters is what it does for you.
Whenever an existing page (or the Stockholm blog) is updated or a new page is added to Stockholm Sweden Travel Guide, it is released through an RSS feed called Stockholm RSS Report.
This also includes some older pages which - for a variety of reasons - are worth an extra visit.
Many sites have an RSS feed now. The BBC has one, CNN has ... They all bring you the latest news and updates, and you don't even have to visit their web site to get it!
RSS is just great. You can keep your e-mail address for yourself now (no spam!). You can subscribe and unsubscribe whenever you want. It's fast, free and safe.
The day that every surfer on the Web will use it, comes closer and closer.
You can recognize an RSS feed by the orange button saying RSS. Or XML, which is the same - only the name is different.
How do you start with RSS?
Soon every browser will have it as an integrated function. Till then you need an RSS reader.
Download one of these and you can start within minutes from now:
Windows - RssReader
http://www.rssreader.com (it's free!)
or Sage (recommended for users of Mozilla Firefox - also free):
http://sage.mozdev.org
Mac - NetNewsWire
http://ranchero.com/netnewswire
Once you're set up, here's all you have to do...
Right-click (control-click for Mac users) on any orange RSS or XML button on a site or blog that interests you. Start by right-clicking on the orange button below. Then...
Select Copy Shortcut (or Copy Link to Clipboard for Mac), and paste that URL into your RSS reader. Or add it as bookmark to your Sage Feeds (Mozilla Firefox users).
That's it! You're subscribed.
Get started with the Stockholm RSS Report.
Now what if you don't want to download software ...
No problem. If you are a user of My Yahoo! you can simply add the Stockholm RSS Report to your own My Yahoo! page.
Just click on the button:
